Google announced a cool feature to embed Adsense ads into YouTube Videos. This will allow publishers to monetise YouTube videos with embedded Adsense ads. Spotted first by Problogger.
But this is not what Darren is saying. This feature will not allow publishers to grab the videos and put them on their site with Adsense ads. This requires your own videos on YouTube to publish ads. Also this option is not available to all YouTube accounts . Only premium YouTube Video publishers having approved videos can add these Adsense ads to their videos.
Adsense ads will be displayed in in YouTube video but not disturbing the video content. Separate custom players will be used to display these Adsense ads. When user clicks on these ads you will generate revenue like normal text and image Adsense units in your site.
You can select the categories to display the ads or Google will display ads targeted to your site content.
See what YouTube saying about this feature:
” So what’s new? Today we’re offering select partners the ability to incorporate YouTube InVideo ads into their content. These are animated overlays that appear on the bottom 20 percent of a video. If you’re interested by what you see there, clicking on the overlay launches a deeper interactive video ad that we think is relevant and entertaining. ”
I think this feature can be a good option for YouTube video publishers as a one more channel for generating revenue from their videos.
