Many people use wireless Internet connection for accessing their vital information online such as blogging accounts, bank log-in, email checking etc. Wireless browsing is not a secure way to browse the Internet and there are high chances of hijacking your account information by intruders.
Gmail has now secure SSL HTTPS connection to access your email account. HTTPS connection is more secure as it uses data encryption and decryption techniques for transferring data over the net. HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is a secure protocol that provides authenticated and encrypted communication.
You can enable this HTTPS setting from your Gmail account. Here is how:
1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click ‘Settings’ link at the top of any Gmail account page.
3. At the end of this setting page you will see ‘Browser connection’ option. Set this to ‘Always use https.
4. Click Save Changes.
5. Reload Gmail.
So next time don’t worry to protect your banking information or online log-in credentials in your Gmail account. Set HTTPS option ON and browse the emails. If you feel this making your Gmail surfing slower then you can make this option off any time.
