Windows live search redesigned its home and search result pages. Now it’s looking more similar to Google search. The new design mainly focused on clean home page and more breathing space for results on search result pages.

After Yahoo! now it’s Live search that followed Google path to see if they can get any success by this move.

You can compare all the tiny elements on Google and Live search result pages. They are more similar even the home pages, as Live search is now concentrating more on clean design like Google.

Copying the Google design, I don’t think Yahoo! or live search will increase their presence in search engine market. What they need to do is, Concentrate on quality of the search result i.e. crawling and indexing more pages, Good webmaster support to manage the result pages, reviewing the algorithm to index and rank the pages etc. These functionality changes may compete with Google and can boost live search performance.
