Samsung and Google get together to unveil the World’s first ChromeBook running on Google Chrome cloud-based OS. The new Samsung Series 5 Chromebook is a 12.1 inch super bright display NetBook which is preloaded with the Google Chrome OS, powered by the latest dual core Atom N570 processor. The display is brighter than standard display.
Samsung Series 5 Chromebook Specifications:
It is a slim 0.79″ body and is available in White finish or Titan Silver. It is equipped with 2GB RAM, 16GB SSD drive mSATA, WIFI 802.11b/g/n, two USB 2.0 ports, HD webcam with noise canceling microphone, clickable trackpad, full-size Chrome keyboard, Mini-VGA port and a basic 1 megapixel camera that allows video-conferencing. Not to mention there is a 6-cell battery that delivers 8.5 hours of use.
Two USB ports are placed on either edge. There is a SIM slot along with the jailbreak switch on the left side. The left edge also features power, dual purpose headphone/external mic jack and VGA. There is no Ethernet port.The performance is quite up to the mark with solid Playback though bandwidth might not be consistent may be due to other reasons like software issues, WIFI or horsepower. There is quick book, within ten-seconds and instant resume. But Operating System occasionally resumes faster than the WIFI can connect.
One can get connected to the data anytime and anywhere through WLAN, 3G and 4-in-1 Card Reader. Verizon wireless has collaborated with Google and Samsung for providing 3G connectivity in US. It will provide around 100MB per month Mobile Broadband service including the device for two years.

The Samsung Series 5 will be launched in the US on June 15, 2011 from BestBuy.com and Amazon.com.

The new Samsung Series 5 ChromeBook Price is not yet known in India. It will be available in WIFI and WIFI+3G versions.
