A new Android tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 has been launched in India. Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 weighs 465 grams and is thinner than even iPad at 8.6 mm thickness.
This Galaxy tab features 8.9 inch HD WXGA TFT display and is running on Android v3.1 Honeycomb operating system. It is powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz dual core processor for better web browsing and powerful multimedia. There is faster switching between the applications and more navigation.
The galaxy tab is equipped with 2 megapixel front camera and 3 megapixel rear camera, digital zoom, auto-focus, LED flash, capable of recording 1080p HD videos.
There is a TouchWiz UX user interface is similar to the one in Samsung Galaxy S2 SmartPhone with layouts, widgets, fonts, etc. It is designed with a live panel menu where content to be displayed can be customized. But the new features included are task manager, Mini Applications tray, and even integration with original Android User Interface. Some of the other applications are Adobe Flash 10.2, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, QuickOffice HD editor and Mobile TV/Live TV application. Not to mention there is Social Hub, Readers Hub, Music Hub, Google Search, Gmail, Android Market, Google Maps, Voice Search and Android Market.

This Samsung Android tablet will be attacking Apple iPad2 and other Android tablets – HTC Flyer and Motorola Xoom. Samsung has collaborated with Vodafone to provide the users 2G and 3G data usage for six months at Rs. 3,000. The WIFI only version or may be 32GB version might arrive soon. It comes in black color.
