No more Supplemental results in Google index

Google announced that from now onwards they will not show “Supplemental result” label to the indexed pages.   Supplemental results  were the pages of secondary or no importance in index.  These  supplemental pages are used only when main index do not returns sufficient data to the users.

From now Google will not show these supplemental results labels means webmasters will not come to know which of their pages are not performing well. Google is saying that they will remove this secondary pages tag on these results and bring them to the main index page that means now Main index pages and supplemental results are almost of same importance to Google.  But this will not affect your traffic as much because these supplemental results will be bring into main index step by step.

This move is definitely a good news for Webmasters. But what about users searching for quality results. They can end up with poor web page than the genuine one what they are looking for.

The copyright was also protected somewhat by these supplemental results as webmasters fear of duplicate content on their site and their overall page rank due to these supplemental pages. But now there will be no such fear of duplicate content and some black hat webmasters will have advantage of this move.

What is exact effect of this? We will come to know in coming days.
