By the time you must have heard about Google chrome. This is being discussed so much in blogosphere that this site is down now :(
Yes, Google announced that they will be launching beta version of Google chrome web browser - Gbrowser tomorrow in more than 100 countries. It’s said to be more than just a web browser.
Here is the first screen shot of this web browser:

This is a big step from Google directly on Microsoft IE and Firefox. Mainly at Microsoft. And yes, Google is becoming next Microsoft now.
“On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn’t the browser that matters. It’s only a tool to run the important stuff — the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.”
This Google chrome browser is built on JavaScript engine, v8, to power next generation of web applications.
Surprisingly Google is launching chrome on windows platform first and currently working hard to support it on Mac and Linux. Chrome is a open source project and will be made available for all web developers to play with it.
This is the beginning. Let’s see how powerful is Gbrowser! Here is the Google Chrome comic book explaining more on chrome.

2@Shantanu,
This doesn’t mean now you can surf any pages on your office computer. Even on “incognito” window your employer can track the pages you visit ;-)
Even in Firefox browser there you can set option to clear all private data once you close the Firefox window. Google incognito feature is somewhat similar to this Firefox feature. Just a tweak in presentation.
