Dell XPS 15z Laptop Review:

Dell Computers, the most reliable brand in laptop world creates a niche in the market by rolling out the world’s thinnest laptop, Dell XPS 15z which is less than an inch thick integrated with outstanding features. According to Dell, “Dell XPS 15z is the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet and the first in a series of new thin and powerful products from Dell to come this year.”

Dell XPS 15z Features and Specifications:
It looks sleek and stylish weighing 2.51 kg and measuring 0.97 inches with a neat silver color aluminum design and polished brushed finishes. There are speakers on either side of the keypad. Dell XPS 15z runs second generation Intel core i5 or i7 processors and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. There is also a 15.6 inch HD display with 1080p resolution, touchpad and backlit chick-let style keyboard which is spill-resistant. The touchpad is over sized that enables good mouse handling. The RAM is 4GB which is extended up to 8 GB.

XPS 15z also sports 1.3 megapixel webcam, stereo speakers and digital microphones. There is Intel’s My Wi-Fi technology with which it will act as WIFI hotspot for other devices. It has enabled Nvidia GeForce GT 525M that has 1GB or 2GB of graphic memory, 3DTV play capabilities and Nvidia Optimus technology for keeping the notebook into power saving mode and theta also lets you extend the battery life up to eight hours.

There is also Bluetooth 3.0, 9-in-1 media card reader, 3 USB ports(2 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0) and 8x DVD+/-RW. It boasts of 8 hour battery life using an eight-cell battery.

Dell XPS 15z Price:

Dell XPS 15z is now available online in US for $999. One might have to shell out more if you upgrade it for adding RAM or hard disk drive. The base model comes with Core i5-2410M, 500GB hard drive, 6GB RAM, Nvidia FeForce GT 525M graphics and 1GB video memory.

Verdict:

Apart from specifications and notable features this laptop has a sleek look and is appealing at the same time. Compared to the previous versions of Dell all the ports are available at the side in Dell XPS 15z with only one or two ports at the rear unlike in previous versions. Moreover, this world’s thinnest laptop does not compromise the speed, power and hence performance of the laptop. This surely looks promising and seems to be hogging all the laptop headlines.
